Congratulations to First Drop UK rider Josh Birch for placing Overall 1st at the British Snow Tour Protest Indoor Slopestyle competiion at Castleford on Saturday.
Josh’s winning run included a lip 270 on, on the down rail, a 270-on 270-out on the flat down rail, followed by a switch on 270 off on the middle rail and a blind switch-up 450 out on the bottom box.
“Castleford Sno!Zone hosted the slopestyle championships again this year, and they sure did a good job, the course was perfectly shaped, and everyone was stoked to be riding it. The new run format was a bit different this year, with there being 3 runs and no finals, personally I kind of like the intensity of the finals, but I still had such a fun time shredding. I went up on Friday to ski the course but it wasn’t open so we had to make do with what was out. On Saturday I had a really fun time shredding the course with my friends and I was so stoked to be crowned the Slopestyle champion for the second year running”
For some reason there’s no photos of Birchy riding in the comp (although we’re sure he didn’t make it up), so this lovely podium shot will have to suffice.
